When I was told it was impossible to heat and curve Millboard decking, I had to give it a go, you never know until you try.
Well, I smashed it, being the first person to successfully heat and curve the bullnose boards to a clean 2.4 m radius. I’d created the first custom curved Millboard deck.
It didn’t take long before a client, from a previous Millboard job we had done, recommended a client on a lake in Oxshott. They had just moved in and needed to replace their existing rotten, timber deck.
They liked the Millboard deck we had replaced next door, and had already chosen their colours; Millboard’s brushed basalt for the main boards and Millboard’s smoked oak as a picture frame.
On our site visit they asked if it was possible to create a circular deck around the tree, reaching out into the lake. It was a lightbulb moment, I had an opportunity to actually build a curved Millboard deck.
The result was a stunning looking deck complex overlooking the lake.
